I do like an award!

Well its seems to have been the month for awards, first the Low Wood Bay +1 Ambassador and now an image of Freddie has placed with a Silver award on the IPPN forum. IPPN stands for International Professional Photographers Network and I have been a member for about 4 years.

Below are the judges comments about the image – I think they just thought that Freddie is a cutie 🙂

  • One to treasure
  • Lovely pic of a special moment
  • How can you be objective with an image like this; beautiful….
  • An incredibly valuable picture. Personally I’d prefer slightly less muddy processing, but maybe that’s just me.
  • This tugs at a mother’s heart. Great focus and beautiful conversion.
I will point out that in regard of technical quality this image was taken through the perspex of Freddie’s incubator at iso 1000 at f1.4 while I was quite emotional – sometimes though it is not all about peeping at pixels – this boy is strong, he will fight – he will prove to us he can do it.
Freddie is home and doing very well, tipping the scales at well in excess of 8lbs now and continues to grow – it seems he is nocturnal though????

A baby in an incubator with a nasal gastric feeding tube, holding his arm in the air with a clasped fist.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of my work, perhaps if you are getting married in the Lake District or you would like timeless images of your children. Please do not hesitate to get in touch I would be delighted to chat.
