Natural Childrens Portraits in The Lake District

If you are looking to have images taken of your children in the Lake District, Cumbria – look no further !

As well as being a Wedding photographer, I love taking fun images of Families and Children for display in the family home. Andy and Laura had seen the images I had taken of their friends children displayed in their friends house and contacted me to do the same for their ten year old twins.

So a date was set and I went to the family home to meet the lads and do the shoot – I work on location and don’t use a studio, one of the benefits of being a Lake District Wedding Photographer is that I have wonderful backdrops to use in nearly all locations, I also have a good understanding of light and can use nearly anywhere to create stunning natural portraits.

Most photo shoots of this nature start with having a cup of Tea and a chat about how we will go about the shoot, also looking at the spaces where the images will be displayed, all my products are 100% Bespoke so virtually anything is possible to create the products the family require.

It was lovely to meet the little guys and they were chatty telling me all about the Strategy game they were playing together all the time I was looking for the light and where we would be shooting.

All sorted and off we go, I took the time to photograph the lads one at a time and then together and in a variety of locations and looks – all the while letting them have input on the photographs taken and telling them why I was moving them in and out of the light – I was very impressed with how fast they picked up on what I was saying, I reckon we may have a couple of budding photographers in the future !

So, we did some shots around the house and finished up in one of my favourite locations for some outdoor shots.

Andy and Laura expressed that they love Black and White so I took most of the images so that they would be suitable to be seen this way, of course I included some colour but I think I far prefer the Black and Whites from this shoot and I know they are going to look amazing when installed.

KoKo the Spaniel also made friends with me and wanted to get in on the action, as she is part of the family I also included some of her on her own and with the boys – I do hope you like the images, feel free to click the Like, Tweet or LinkedIn buttons.
