From first breaths to first shoes – Freddie’s first year.
Freddie is our son, he was brought into the world a bit early on the 3rd February 2012 weighing 3lb 9ozs, from theatre he went straight to the Neo-Natal unit at Lancaster Royal Infirmary where he stayed for around 4 weeks, you can read the ‘Its a Boy’ blog post HERE. He is growing up to be such a sweet little boy and we are eternally grateful to all the staff, especially the doctors and Neo-Natal nurses at RLI, they are the most wonderfully caring people working under immense pressure. (pressure that sounds like it is going to get worse with the ‘temporary closure’ of Barrow-in-Furness Neo-Natal unit 🙁 )
It has been a great first year with Freddie and I have been lucky enough to spend a massive amount of time with the family, one of the benefits of being self-employed I guess 🙂 anyway, I normally blather on, so instead I am going to just let the pictures do the talking, this is Freddie’s first year, from first breaths to first shoes.
I will soon be launching my ‘From first breaths to first shoes’ collection, a series of photo-shoots at suggested milestones in a babies first year with various selection options including perhaps a maternity shoot before baby arrives. This culminates in a beautiful product to celebrate the first year. Also a great reduction in prints and products along the way once booked, please do not hesitate to get in touch either via the contact form, my Facebook page, Twitter or simply give me a call!
I have tried to keep Freddie’s images in a chronological order, some may be a little out of sync but you get the idea 😉

A quick maternity shoot while we had an amazing sunset.
This image is looking out over Kendal from ‘our end of town’ on the morning of Friday 3rd February 2012. I was on the way to the hospital to meet Rachy, we knew that this was the day we would meet our little boy or girl.
Wow – nearly time…….
We were asked before we went into theatre if we had names, we did and they were noted, we heard a cry after what only seemed like moments. Here is Freddie Joseph, I think it was Jemma that said the words and off he went to be checked out, all the while letting us know he was with us. We were able to give him a cuddle. Rachy went off to recovery and she sent me to be with him in Neo-Natal. Welcome young man!
First bath time in the Neo-Natal unit was a big deal – luckily Freddie now loves his bath!
Freddie visits our friend Tim Marris – Tim is a Cranial Osteopath.
Rosie has been so very tolerant of Freddie moving in on her patch.
Spoilt boy at Christmas?
Happy New Year Freddie!
I got teef Daddy 😉
Freddie’s first shoes – my father Fred worked at K Shoes for most of his working life and that is probably where I got my love of beautiful shoes from – it was a very special moment seeing Freddie get his first ‘Big Boy’ shoes!
A rare ‘non-iPhone’ shot of Freddie and I!
I do hope you enjoyed Freddie’s first year as much as we have.
