Lake District Pre-Wedding photoshoot.

I first had a call from Trudy and Brian after they saw Jenny and Paul’s Wedding photographs taken last year in Manchester. It was actually a real privilege as they had no real firm date, Trudy and Brian had some ideas but the dates were dependent on the venue and myself.

I met Trudy and Brian at the Manchester Wedding Venue and we talked through the options, a great couple and a great venue.

Our original date has changed a couple of times, due to circumstances but always in consultation with myself and luckily me and the venue have been able to accommodate each new date. So with our final date we are all happy and a Pre Wedding shoot was arranged.

A Pre-Wedding shoot is included in all Ian Wood Photography Wedding Packages, I find it really important for the Bride and Groom to have some time in front of the camera before their Wedding, of course its great fun getting to know the Bride and Groom a little before the Wedding day, also to find out if they blink together or independently 🙂 A couple of images from the shoot are also used on a signature mount which guests can sign at the Wedding instead of a guest book, this is then taken back and framed.

I invited Trudy and Brian to my hometown and base in Kendal, Cumbria and they were delighted to have a weekend away, I have some contacts and was happy to recommend the wonderful Yvonne Brownrigg and her Guest House for them to stay in. Brian wanted to make sure he saw the football on the Saturday which was fine by me and it was great to meet up with them for a quick beer and chat, also to recomend them somewhere to eat on the Saturday night.

Sunday came around and the plan was to meet at MORE? bakery in the Staveley Mill Yard for a coffee and slice of cake before heading out onto location – I always have a bank of locations dependent on the weather, our weather today was great, ok it wasn’t great, it was a typical Lake District ‘Liquid Sunshine’ day – so I opted for the sheltered locations !

Trudy and Brian were really comfortable in front of the camera and most of all – we had a really good laugh !

Rachel my Fiancee accompanied me again on this shoot, she is becoming a really valuable helper for me, Rachel also loves being in front of the camera, so after we had said our goodbyes to Brian and Trudy we had a play with some ideas I had had for future shoots.

I am really looking forward to the Wedding in early May, its going to be a cracker !
