A Pre – Wedding photo session is included in all my Wedding packages and serves quite a few purposes, it can be arranged anytime after a Wedding Booking has been confirmed with Ian Wood Photography either on the run up to a Wedding, it can be used as a Engagement souvenir, perhaps one of the images could be used for a ‘Save the Date’ card of which I can also design and supply.
In fact in the news recently are the Pre-Wedding or Engagement photographs of William Windsor and Kate Middleton by Mario Testino, one of which is very formal and traditional, one much more natural which is my favourite, right now the images I take are unlikely to reach the national and international press, nevetheless the work and passion that goes into my images is just the same !
I use the images taken for the Signature Mount, which guests can sign at the Wedding, I then have this framed for the couple as a lasting memory and piece of Wall Art. Unlike a guest book which often ends up shut away in a drawer, although I can also supply a Queensberry Engagement Album with images from the shoot and blank pages that can be signed by guests, my preference is always the mount to be framed though as it is so much more visual !
As the photographer it gives me a chance to get to know the Bride and Groom a little better, it also helps the Bride and Groom relax and understand how I will operate on their Wedding Day and the kind of equipment I will be using, professional cameras and lenses can be quite intimidating !
I also find that when on a Pre-Wedding shoot I often get asked for advice about their Wedding, as Wedding photographers we have a vast experience of all things Wedding as we have been to so many !
I was really excited to hear more about Matt and Jo’s plans, its going to be a gorgeous Christmas Wedding at a beautiful little village Church followed by a stunning Lake District Hotel – I know the hotel really goes to town with the Christmas Decorations, so I am quite excited by the possibiites for photography !
Matt and Jo actually booked me two years ago, so it was lovely to catch up again – as always, I am really looking forward to the Wedding !
Just a couple of images for you from this shoot, well it was rude not include the amazing warm afternoon sun, I really like backlit images, just something slightly different !
