Billy and Diane were married at Armathwaite Hall near Keswick back in August by the lovely registrars of Allerdale. I had photographed Weddings on the previous two days and was as excited as ever for my third Wedding in three days, although I had opted for comfy shoes !
I am so lucky to be a Lake District Wedding Photographer as it means I get to photograph happy people in some of the most stunning locations in the UK, I love my job !
To get to the Armathwaite Hall hotel I had to drive my favourite road and that is from Grasmere to Keswick – the A591 over the most wonderful Dunmail Raise and down past the idyllic Thirlmere Resovoir I just love the scenery and almost pre-historic look of Thirlmere especially early in the morning, gorgeous.
Upon my arrival at Armathwaite I met Billy the Groom and Billy the Brides father and we sat in the sun, drinking coffee on the terrace overlooking Bassenthwaite, I giggled to myself, this is work, sometimes its good being me !
Soon I had the nod that Diane was ready for the Bridal preparations and I was shown to the suite where she was getting ready, champagne had been cracked and the happy laughs and craics had started, hair being done, make up being applied and a great atmosphere building, a sunny day outside – perfect !
A lovely ceremony and meal followed and we had lots of photography time in and around the grounds, a truly great day with fab people , also thanks to Jay and Abi at Armathwaite for looking after me and keeping me hydrated !
